If you ask stores that sell laptop units what one brand they can highly recommend to gamers, there’s a good chance that the common answer would be the Razer.
When it comes to topnotch gaming devices, the Razer is a front-runner. In fact, most experts would say that the company is getting closer and closer to building the ‘perfect’ gaming laptop. In this case, perfect means a gaming device that is powerful and portable. It also means a machine that doesn’t compromise any of its features and specs.
Despite a very few mediocre features and kinks, the Razer Blade is the most ideal gaming laptop in the market. It often tops the list of the best gaming laptop since its release. And over the years, this beloved machine has gone through several revisions. With each modification, Razer aims to offer the best gaming device in the market not just in terms of performance, but also in design.
Well, it seems that Razer has finally perfected years of revisions. This year, the gaming hardware company is launching the all-new Razer Blade 15.
Design and Performance
The body of the Razer Blade 15 is covered with a matte black finish, with a lit Razer logo on the back lid. It seems that the company took the laptop redesign seriously as buttons are moved to provide a better gaming experience.
For instance, the power button on the old Razer Blade models is placed on the top-center of the device. With the Blade 15, the button is moved into the right speaker grill to prevent any design breaks. If you’re an old Blade user, keep that in mind. A lot of Blade 15 beta testers took a while figuring out which button to press to turn on the laptop.
As for the keypads, the Blade 15 has a sizable trackpad that extends close to the bottom of the laptop’s housing. The keyboards are RGB and the keys are lit individually using anti-ghosting technology. This tech ensures that each press on any key is registered. The responsive switches are also fast enough to recognize multiple key presses.
The screen of the Blade 15 is 15.6 inches full HD+ IPS (1920 x 1080). If you prefer a touchscreen unit or a 4K panel, Razer also provides those models. In terms of connectivity, the new Razer Blade model has USB 3.1 ports, in lime green no less. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack. For external hard drives, the Blade 15 has a USB Type-C Thunderbolt port. Gamers also have access to the HDMI and Mini Display ports.
Setting the new design aside, you’d primarily buy the Razer Blade 15 for its performance. It runs Intel’s 8th generation 6-core processor chips. The Blade 15 is a beast in terms of functionality and efficiency. It runs smoothly and hardly ever interrupts a game. The only slight trade-off is the battery life. At a push, the laptop can get away from the charger for three to four hours of nonstop play.
The Razer Blade 15 is now available for pre-order. Price starts at $1899.
