It’s still mid-year, but experts and vendors who sell electronics have already claimed that 2016 is a great year for Android. Every month, consumers are amazed with the wonderful release of Android devices that can go toe-to-toe with Apple’s flagship phones.

For one, the OnePlus 3 has yet again shown that you don’t have to break your budget to have a great smartphone. Also, the Samsung Galaxy S7 proved that the premium-tier Android devices can be quite remarkable. But more appealing Android smartphones are on their way into the consumers’ pockets. Below are some of the most anticipated (and latest) Android units.

Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin

These Nexus devices are two of the most anticipated Android devices of the season. This coming September, consumers can expect the launch of the Nexus Sailfish and the Nexus Marlin. These devices are the newest Google flagships. A year ago, Google combined forces with LG and launched the Nexus 5X. The search engine giant also partnered with Huawei and unveiled the Nexus 6P.

But unlike Nexus 5X and 6P, this year’s Nexus units are predicted to store mainly identical specs with the key distinctions on the screen size and resolution. Several reports claim the Nexus Marlin will offer a 5.5-inch QHD screen display, featuring a metal frame. On the other hand, the Nexus Sailfish will likely present a 5.2-inch, full HD screen, featuring a plastic frame. The battery powers of the two are likely to differ from each other as well.

Huawei P9

The P9, Huawei’s latest flagship unit, does not have the most stimulating design on the market. In fact, it’s basically a simple smartphone, especially on the outside. However, to date, it features the brand’s best technology in terms of the EMUI software. This is a packed technology you want in a third-party launcher. The smartphone’s 955 processor functions at a top-notch level. Its new dual-camera setup is highly effective. With only trivial software glitches and plenty of options, the P9 is easily Huawei’s best smartphone yet.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Mi Note 2

Xiaomi has created a reputation for itself by designing reliable Android units that undercut the price tag on rival brands with identical specs and features. The company is incredibly popular in China but is yet to invade the US market – mostly due to copyright laws. However, for the Asian market, Xiaomi has consistently launched remarkable smartphones. This year is no exception.

Xiaomi’s Redmi line is noted for its low-cost devices and outstanding features. The Redmi 4 is predicted to come up packed with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 5-inch HD screen, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Rumors indicate this may cost approximately $105. The Redmi 4 is expected to be launched sometime between August and September, with the Mi Note 2, the newest Mi phablet. The Mi Note 2 is said to feature a 5.7-inch curved display screen, much like the Galaxy Note 7 for roughly half the latter’s price.

Some Android phones are arguably the best smartphones available. These latest units are not far behind.
