Siri iPhones voice assistant is all-knowing. It basically has an answer to every question imaginable. Granted, there are instances when its answers are hilarious and even come with a touch of sarcasm. But Siri is handy when you need to get an answer easy and fast. Tech sites and vendors who sell iPhones always provide a list of the many commands and tricks that Siri can do to make Apple users happy.

Siri as a Tip Calculator
Giving a tip after dining out is not just necessary, in most countries, it’s a hospitality law. Unfortunately, some diners get confused on how much they need to give, especially when they need to mentally calculate the tip percentage. The easy fix to this problem is to ask Siri for help. One of the many “talents” of Apple’s voice PA includes determining how much the tip should be based on a specific percentage of your restaurant bill.

You dont need to download any special tip calculator app for this. Instead, simply ask Siri. For example, Siri, what is 15% tip on a $120 bill? The smart PA will answer, $18. To get an accurate response, make sure that you pose the question as a simple mathematical problem. A simple equation to follow would be:

What is (tip percentage) of (total bill)?
(Ex.)What is 15% of $120?

To make the computation even simpler, you can ask the app the literal math question: 15% times 120 or 0.15 times 120. Either way, Siri will provide the correct answer. This process is also applicable to Siri on iPad and iPod.

Other Awesome Siri Tricks
With Siri, you can get answers to a variety of things with just the power of your voice. The only thing you need to do is ask. Apart from being a great tip calculator, Siri can also:
Serve as a reminder.
The digital assistant can help you remind of “this”, where “this” is virtually anything you’re working on when you asked for Siri’s help. This includes your email, SMS, web pages, and podcasts. Simply give Siri this command: “Remind me of (this)” so it can add the page into your “Reminders” along with the link back to the specific content you want to bookmark.
Be a photo-finder.
Siri can now access your Photos app. This means it can easily search through your photos and videos according to the time, place, and album. If you set up Faces in Photos, Siri can even look for a specific person when you give the command. Just ask Siri to “show me photos of (this).
Take you to where youre going.
Not only will Siri get you where you have to go, the smart PA can also inform you the time it’ll take to get there. Ask Siri to “give me directions” to where you’re going or “ETA” to find out how much longer it is from where you are to your destination.

To get the maximum benefits Siri can provide, explore your Apple devices. Even if its just for fun, Siri is still a smart companion.
