Ask any shop that sells electronics what is their most saleable device apart from smartphones and you’ll probably hear a Wi-Fi router in the list of answers. In this time and age of internet prevalence, a home, establishment or building without a Wi-Fi connection is almost unheard of.

The importance of a router can’t be stressed enough , same as the need for more router selections that don’t include fluctuating connections, jumbled cables abd confusing configurations.

This is were Google OnHub comes into the picture. This router user-friendly, fast and risk-free. It’s visually attractive so you can actually display it for everyone to see. Google partnered with ASUS to make this happen.

Out in the Open

OnHub routeres are intended to be showcases or displayed out in the open. ASUS is know for its design-intuitive gadgets that concentrate on the ways people can use and display them in various ways. Aesthetically, the router can be put in the living room or anywhere out in the open-where a router should be -without the annoyance brought by bulky and jumbled cord and cables.

Similar to the original OnHUb router, the ASUS edition is a tall, rounder unit. Its bottom part is significantly larger than the original. It also tapers off as it gets elevated with the signature OnHub LED ring at the base rather than the top.

The Wave Control

With the ASUS OnHub, Google is also launching the Wave Control. This feature improves the WI-Fi speed of a specific device simply by waving your hand on top of the router.

It’s still unclear how the router knows which unit you want to prioritize. At present , the router’s control app allows you to pick a specific device on your network. Once the device is chosen, the router considers it as the top priority but only for a specific amount of time.

Tech experts say that it’s possible that you can arrange a default unit to get boosted if you wish to use the  Wave Control feature. But we all have to wait for Google’s official statement about the subject.

Smart Antenna Algorithm

The Internet search giant also revealed a new software update for the new OnHub router. If features the “smart antenna algorithm” that will conveniently and automatically choose the best arrangement of a antennas in the unit’s 360-degree selection to offer you a stronger Wi-Fi signal.
