Should Apple be worried ? Insiders think so, as news about what the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 would look like quickly circulated. It does look high-end, and is something that will compete directly with the latest iPads released, waging yet another Android versus iOS gadget war.
One thing that is noticeable from these leaked photos is the fact that they are sleeker than ever. It is even rumored that it will be a whole lot thinner than the iPad Air 2, going for only 5.5 mmto compete against the iPad’s 6.1 mm width. Overall measurements would then approximately be 237.17 mm x 169.58mm x 5.5mm.
They will also come in two versions. Consumers can easily take their pick between an 8-inch Tab or 9.7-inch one, and choose between just Wifi capability or a Wifi plus LTE combination. So that’s four different tablets all in all., each one of them having a 4:3 aspect ratio. This is also one thing that’s different, considering that Samsung Tabs have always had 16:9 aspect ratios.
Following their release of the Galaxy 6, a lot of the designs that is expected to be seen the Tab S2 will be a little familiar. This could draw signs of relief, as it was never a secret that everybody anticipated the release of the flagship Samsung Smartphone and were pleasantly surprised at all the changes they made to break tradition across their long line of releases. The S2 is slated to have a metal case , and will be using a 2048 x 1536 resolution Super AMOLED display. It will already have 32 GB of built-in-storage , but users can freely add more with its microSD slot. It will have an 8MP main camera, with a 2.1 MP front-facing camera.
Looking al all these specs, there is no doubt at all that this will be a slimmer and more lightweight options for all tablet users, which could spell trouble for the iPad. But then again, the iPad has been dominating the tablet scene for yeasrs, and it could be time for them to share some of the market percentage with their long-time rival.
The different S2 versions are set to be released in June of this year, and this is probably going to be a lot more expensive than previous Tab releases from Samsung. The same thing happened with the S6 of course , which is not surprising considering the vast number of improvements made on it to take it farther away from its predecessors.
Of course, a lot the specs released are yet to be confirmed, as these were only leaked information. Whether some of these are true or not though, one thing is still for sure: you’ll see a whole lot of people, running towards stores that sell electronics the moment its release is announced, just to find out if the entire list is true.
