One ring to rule them all … and enter any web service safely. That is the proposal being investigated in Google Labs to end the problem of using only one password, but this is sufficiently complex.
The ring could act on NFC or via a USB connection to provide the authenticity of the user login. It would store a password in it, but it would respond to a complex problem posed by the server and could only have a single key validation for users who want an extra layer of security.
This type of “keys” physical identification are often used in large companies but for now no one has dared to take the leap into the consumer market with them. They are a nuisance because it takes forever to load with a small USB flash drive or a special card. Google, however, believes that if it were possible to integrate them into a fashion accessory, like a ring, would be much easier to use
