As students head back to school (mostly virtually) after the holidays to start a new semester, now is the perfect time to review the best Apple student deals. Being a student can be a costly undertaking, but student discounts can help partially relieve the burden. Apple offers great discounts to students (and teachers!) through its separate educational store. Below we explain how it works, how you can qualify, and what products the student discount applies to.

Who Is Eligible For Apple Education Pricing?

In order to qualify for the special discount and take advantage of the Apple student deals, you need to meet at least one of following requirements:

  • Newly accepted to a college or university
  • Currently enrolled at a college or university
  • Be a teacher, homeschool teacher, or faculty member at a school

How To Claim The Discount?

If you meet the above criteria, saving money on Apple student deals is fairly easy. Instead of shopping through the regular online Apple store, you need to navigate to the education store website instead. There’s no verification process at the time of purchase, but Apple does occasionally perform random checks. If you can’t verify your enrollment, the tech giant has the right to charge you the difference.

There are different discount rates for different products. Currently, Apple student deals cover Mac computers (iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini) and iPads. Students can also receive a 50% discount on Apple Music, which currently comes with a free Apple TV+ subscription.

When shopping for Apple student deals on the Education website, you won’t see the original prices, which might be a bit confusing. To avoid that, make sure to keep Apple’s regular store in another tab, so you can easily compare the prices.

What Products Does The Discount Apply To?

As we mentioned above, Apple’s student discount applies to the range of MacBooks and iPads, as well as Apple Music. Apple Watches and iPhones cannot be purchased with a student discount. Here are some of the current Apple student deals:

MacBook Air 13”

The base model, which comes in three beautiful finishes, has 256GB of storage, and a 7-Core CPU costs only $899. You can purchase a mode advanced option for $1,149. This is a great laptop for school or college, as it has everything a busy student might need.

MacBook Pro

A more advanced laptop compared with Air, this powerful device comes with Apple’s very own M1 chip with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, brilliant Retina display, and an impressive battery life. Base 13” model with 256GB storage costs $1,199 with a student discount. MacBook Pro also comes with 16-inch displays. We also have a more detailed review of the MacBook Pro 2020 13 inch.

iMac

Probably one of the most well-known desktop computers on the market, this machine is ideal for creative students due to its incredible graphics, vibrant Retina display, and blistering speed. The 21.5-inch iMac model with 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 256GB storage and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 is priced at $1,049 with a student discount. A higher-end model, with Retina 4K display and Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz, costs $1,399.

iPad Air

This light, but mighty device comes in 5 different eye-catching finishes (good luck choosing one!) and 2 storage options: 64GB or 256GB. Offering up to 10 hours of battery life, a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display featuring True Tone and P3 wide color, and A14 Bionic chip for incredible speed and graphics, iPad Air is great for students on the go. The 64GB base model costs only $549 with a student discount.

iPad Mini

If you’re looking for an advanced gadget to take notes during classes and stay productive and organized, iPad Mini can certainly help. It’s quite powerful for its small size and comes with a 7.9-inch Retina display and A12 Bionic chip. Base model with 64GB storage costs as little as $379.

Conclusion

As you can see, Apple student deals are a great way to save money on some of Apple’s most popular devices. The academic journey might be tough, but Apple education pricing can certainly make a student’s life a bit easier.
