Motorola might come out with not two, but three next-generation Moto G series smartphones very soon. The G6 is said to launch alongside its premium variant, the G6 Plus, and the rumored lower-end model, the G6 Play, sometime next month.
Much like its release date, the specifications of the Moto G6 remain under wraps. But rumor has it, the smartphone’s frame will be similar to that of the Moto X4’s. The G6 is also expected to come with a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 350, a 16-megapixel front cam, a 12-megapixel as well as a 5-megapixel dual camera, and a 3000mAh battery.
But without any confirmation from the Lenovo-owned company, it’s best if you take this information with a grain of salt. Really, don’t give up on your current mobile devices just yet. Opt to sell cell-phone units when the company delivers the official announcement.
So you can keep up with the latest news, here, we’ll give you the lowdown on the Moto G6’s highly-anticipated debut.
Mobile World Congress Debut
Since the beginning of the year, there have been conflicting reports about the G6’s launch date. One of the earliest speculations on the smartphone’s debut was that it would occur at the 2018 Mobile World Congress. Its predecessor, the G5, was launched at the same event a year before, so naturally, many expected the next-generation smartphone to be unveiled at the annual gathering. But as you know, the G6 was a no-show.
May Launching
After the MWC, the rumor mill started churning out new speculations, one of which was that the smartphone would make a debut in May. That most likely started when retailer Frys.com indicated in a now-deleted listing that the G6 will be available for pre-orders starting May 10. These supposed leaks from retailers are often too good to be true. Even Amazon occasionally does listing leaks, which are mostly really not relevant information.
April Unveiling
More recent reports are currently suggesting that the entry-level G6, the G6 Plus, and the G6 Play will be introduced this month.
In a report, Android Pit claimed to have received an invitation from Motorola for an event on the 19th of April in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This invitation reportedly features a green colored backdrop that’s very similar to the wallpapers in the G6’s leaked renders. If you’ve seen those leaks, you most likely will be convinced that the upcoming event is the much-awaited unveiling of the next-generation Moto G phone.
Cross your fingers because there is a good chance that the upcoming event is going to be the unveiling of the G6. When Motorola issued a statement announcing Sergio Buniac as the new Chairman and President of the Lenovo-owned company, they confirmed that their first product launch for the year will happen in April.
Whether or not the upcoming event is the unveiling of the G6, you’ll know in a few more days. Hence, be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
