Apple as a brand has established its prominence in the world of technology as an advocate of innovation and a producer of unconventional product design. It has earned great following and loyalty from tech fans all over the world who are not only enthusiastic about purchasing Apple products but are actually passionate about them. From phones to computers, Apple has wowed the world as it combines state-of-the-art aesthetics and function.

The MacBook Air, for one, has changed the world for many designers as it completely bent the way professionals perceive good product design. Over the years, Apple fans have been anticipating the next big thing to the iMac and the MacBook Air; and in 2017, rumors flew that MacBook Pro 2018 is finally happening. It was all good buzzes and tales until Apple broke the news recently that there isn’t going to be a new Macbook until 2019.

Why It’s Worth the Wait

It is important to note that there hasn’t been an update to the MacBook Pro since 2013. In an interview with TechCrunch, Apple’s Senior Director for Mac Hardware Marketing, Tom Boger, expressed the company’s intention to be honest to the community about what’s causing the delay. The executive said that the company had to start from scratch as they tried to identify what the bottlenecks and pain points are, as well as how they can improve previous flaws.

Boger also expressed that, following the organization’s perfectionist culture, the company wanted to ensure that the next MacBook Pro will be as exceptional as its predecessors in providing professionals a tool that will last them decades.

John Ternus, head of the Pro Workflow Team added, “this is very much a situation where we want to measure twice and cut once and we want to make sure we’re building a really well thought out platform for what our pro customers are doing today.”

Pro 2019’s Novel Engineering

When the MacBook Air was launched in 2008, Steve Jobs swept the audience off their feet with the device’s game-changing design. It changed the game entirely for tech companies, encouraging them to invest in function and good design. Apple is attempting to exceed the MacBook Air’s success by focusing on the more minute details of the product.

“We’ve gone from just, you know, engineering Macs and software to actually engineering a workflow and really understanding from soup to nuts, every single stage of the process, where those bottlenecks are, where we can optimize that,” said Boger.

He further emphasized that the company is serious about wanting to optimize the machine’s performance and would go to great extent – from building top of the line operating systems and hardware to establishing better relationships with contractors – just to make the MacBook Pro 2019 as perfect as possible.

All the buzz surrounding the upcoming MacBook Pro is not at all surprising considering how fervent Apple as an organization is toward delivering game-changing products. Adoring fans all over the world would have to hold off the urge to sell MacBook Pros for now in anticipation of another Apple marvel that, from the looks of it, would definitely make Steve Jobs proud.
