“How can I recover deleted photos on my iPhone?”

Vendors who sell iPhone can attest to how this question is among the top concerns of iPhone users.

Deleting photos by accident can bring about a minor crisis. It surely triggers some drama where you either blame yourself or your device. At times, iTunes and iCloud can offer some assistance. But for most incidents, a full backup is required before you can retrieve all the deleted photos you want.

In reality, majority of iPhone users do not always do a full backup. So in most cases, they just have to let go and bid their precious photos goodbye.

The good news is there are a few methods on how you can still recover deleted photos on your iPhone.

  • Through “Recently Deleted”

Whenever you delete a photo on your iPhone, it stays available in the Recently Deleted album for up to 30 days. If you want to restore a photo you’ve recently deleted, it’s easy enough to do so. Simply:

  • Go to your smartphone’s “Photos” app.
  • Look for “Albums.”
  • Choose “Recently Deleted” to view the pictures you have deleted.
  • Tap “Select” to pick out the pictures you wish to restore.
  • Tap “Recover” to restore the photos.
  • Tap “Confirm Recover Photo.”

Once done, you’ll have your recently deleted photo(s) back. This is the easiest way to retrieve deleted iPhone photos, provided you change your mind before the 30-day cutoff ends.

  • Through iTunes

It is possible to get your deleted iPhone photos back by extracting your last iTunes backup data if you’ve synced your smartphone with iTunes. To restore data from an iTunes backup, you have to:

  • Connect your iPhone to the computer you use to sync your files.
  • Tap the “File” menu.
  • Choose “Devices.”
  • Select “Restore from Backup.”

The good thing about using iTunes to restore your photos is it only recovers portions of your data. You’re also able to preview the content found before choosing which photos to retrieve. The process only takes a few seconds too. You may also use iTunes to recover your photos – and other files – if your iPhone is broken or lost.

  • Through iCloud

If you’ve enabled it, iCloud automatically backs up all the important data on your iPhone. This means you can just simply recover the photos from your smartphone through your iCloud account. Just:

  • Run “Recover from iCloud Backup File.”
  • Sign in using your account
  • Choose and download the data you want to retrieve
  • Extract the data.
  • Preview the content and then restore the photos you want.

The best thing about using iCloud is it won’t cause problems with the current data on your smartphone since you don’t need to erase all your content and settings.

  • Through a Third-Party Program

If you don’t have a backup system, your savior can be a third-party photo recovery program. Don’t treat this is a mere last resort. In fact, some experts say this is the most efficient way of retrieving deleted photos. Most photo recovery tools directly scan and retrieve the deleted pictures from your smartphone. There are quite a lot of tools in the market, just choose which program suits you best.
