If there’s one thing that can be ranked as the most controversial in the release of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, it has got to be the preference of wireless technology that Apple is pushing into their system. In the entire stretch before the units were released, people just can’t stop talking about how Apple users will find the AirPods, the wireless earphone solution that the Apple team has put into place to make way to a slimmer design.
Experts that sell iPhone units have gathered feedback from people they know have used the wireless AirPods, mostly those who were given the chance to do a test run before AirPods are released to the masses. Here’s what they have to say:
- “It’s not as weird as it initially sounded.”
A lot of people thought it was going to look weird walking around with blobs of plastic stuck into their ears. Sure, people walk around with earphones all the time. But then again, people are also used to seeing wires connecting the earphones and the gadget.
Surprisingly, nobody really cared that much. After all the speculation about how this was all going to turn out, it looks like nobody really cared much about how it looks.
- “Pairing is a cinch!”
You know how pairing up your Bluetooth headphones (or just about any Bluetooth gadget) would mean going into your settings and clicking a few times just to pair them up with your device. Using the AirPods, the word “pairing” didn’t even come into the picture, and is not seen anywhere in the user’s manual. This is because the AirPods come with a W1 chip that immediately detects when the AirPods need to be used. It connects the devices automatically, without the need for so much tapping and pressing.
- “It knows it’s inside my ear.”
Yup, the AirPods come with sensors that actually detect when they’re already in your ears and ready to use. It’s completely psychic, knowing when you want to use it at the exact right time.
- “Charging is seamless.”
Another thing that proves to be so efficient in the new AirPods is the charging system. Don’t confuse those white packages with your Tic-Tacs. They’re just casings for these AirPods, and actually serve as their charging bay. So the moment you take those little pods out of your ears and place them into that casing, they automatically start charging. The casing itself can be charged via a lightning port.
- “The batteries surprisingly last longer than advertise.”
Apple says that these AirPods are supposed to last for 5 hours at full charge. But guess what. A user actually says that it lasts so much longer than this. It’s also very convenient that the casing itself charges the AirPods. This means that every single time you take them off and put them in their case, you also top-up the batteries.
Once you grab your own pair, let us know what you think right away. So far though, with these few reviews we’ve seen, it looks like these AirPods are off to a great start.
