As with any other iOS update, people were apprehensive about jumping right into the iOS 10. Call it learning from past mistakes, but even diehard Apple users admit that a lot of iOS updates in the past have caused quite a few problems.
In this case however, it seems Apple has been learning a thing or two from their mistakes as well. Even experts that sell iPhones admit that the changes the iOS 10 delivers has changed the way people use their mobile gadgets. Here are some of the most significant:
- Raise to wake
Now, you don’t even have to touch the home button to check the time or look at your notifications. All you have to do is pick your phone up, and your gadget’s motion sensors immediately wake your phone up.
- Hide stock apps
The issue about useless apps littered all over the home screen has always been one of the biggest complaints of Apple users. Finally, the tech giant heeds their users’ pleas. Just delete the default apps the same way you would any other app. This automatically gets rid of those stock apps you don’t use. Worried that you might need them eventually? That’s okay. They aren’t really deleted, they’re just hidden in the system. By redownloading them the same way you would download any other app, they’ll show up as if they were never really gone.
- 3D-touch control center
If you’re using the iPhone 6, 6s, or anything newer, you can finally pull up a whole new set of options from the bottom of the page without having to leave your current screen to go to Settings.
- Accessing third party apps through Siri
It has always been a given that iOS is synonymous with exclusivity. So consider this as a glimpse of the awesomeness that will happen when Apple opens its doors to 3rd party developers. Finally, you can use Siri to complete actions with apps like WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Pinterest. As more 3rd party developers jump in, expect the list of apps you can use with Siri to grow as well.
- Quick camera launch
Everybody regrets not having the chance to take a snapshot precious moment. The sad thing about these moments is, it happens in an instant and is over just as fast. After upgrading to iOS 10, you won’t have to deal with the waiting that comes in unlocking your phone and waiting for the camera app to launch. A simple swipe to the left should do it now, and you’re instantly ready to capture any moment the exact second it happens.
There are a lot of other things you can now do, thanks to the iOS 10 upgrade. Of course, expect even more updates to come as people find more and more things that will make their lives easier with the use of their Apple gadgets. Now that others have downloaded the upgrade, installed it, and experienced the huge difference, you can safely jump right in without fearing the usual things you worry about every time you are prompted to update your phone.
