Google recently presented how it believes a powerful smartphone should look like. Following a number of rumors and teasers, the search engine giant has officially introduced the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Pixel, a 5-inch powerhouse, operates at 1080p. Pixel XL, half-an-inch bigger, runs via Quad HD. Internally, both smartphones feature lots of identical components like the Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and the choice between 32 GB and 128 GB of storage space.

But more than these specs, Google’s Pixel phones host a number of cool features. Here are what experts and vendors who sell electronics rave about:

  1. Discover virtual worlds.

Pixel and Pixel XL are the first smartphones to be created that work seamlessly with Daydream, Google’s virtual reality platform. A head accessory turns the phones into full-on VR headsets.

  1. Take better pictures.

The camera hardware of Google’s Pixel line is arguably the most effective and impressive that has even been equipped on a smartphone. Google outfitted the phones with a camera that has the speediest capture time ever. The rear-facing camera produces 12.3-megapixel photos. It is so good that DxOMark, the board that provides the criteria for camera efficiency, gave it a score of 89 – the highest ever given to a camera phone.

  1. Save and store EVERYTHING in the cloud.

Getting a new Google Pixel phone means getting unlimited cloud storage. So, regardless of how many multimedia files you want to shoot, save and store, you have more than enough cloud space at your disposal.

  1. Get a better version of Siri.

Google Assistant, the company’s smart voice-activated feature, basically works like an upgraded version of Siri. You only have to ask for what you want, and it’ll be done. It can even make dinner reservations for you.

  1. Get free technical support and automatic updates without hassle.

Google Pixel phones are not without downsides, but if you ever have an issue, Google makes it easy for you to receive the technical support you need. It incorporated a built-in tech support system on both smartphones that enables you to contact a Google employee for help.

The assistant will be able to see exactly what you see on the phone. And thanks to Google’s Duo video conference software, troubleshooting the problem gets easier and faster. Also, Pixel users get an automatic software update directly from Google as soon as a new OS version becomes available.

  1. Take your entire music collection on the road.

You can upload up to 50,000 songs to either Google Play Music for Chrome or the Music Manager. Once the songs are uploaded, you can listen to them via Pixel’s Google Play Music app wherever you are and whenever you want.

  1. Enjoy your headphones.

If you can’t stand the thought of using a smartphone without a headphone jack, then worry no more. Pixel and Pixel XL feature a headphone jack so you use and enjoy your cool headphones anytime.

Tech experts say that other Android smartphones – and Apple flagship phones, too – must be wary of Google’s Pixel line as the two smartphones stay on top of their game.
