According to Samsung, half of the defective lot with faulty , exploding batteries is now out of consumers’ hands in the US.
Two days after the incident reports, Samsung has shipped about 500, 000 Galaxy Note 7 replacement units to retailers in the US. This batch is to replace the one million units that have been sold. Samsung claims that only half of current Note 7 owners in the US have claimed the replacements and returned their Note 7’s.
Samsung reports that majority of the people who exchanged their units still opted for the new Note 7 instead of refunding their money.
