Apple has always developed products that they hope would mark them as fashionable. Some products have become clear testimonies of this, while some have been met with disbelief and criticism. When it comes to Apple Watch however , it has been a win style-wise.
And now, they´re taking it one step further.
Early September, Apple and Hermes introduced their joint collection, the Apple Watch Hermes. This means that not only has Apple stepped out to appeal to gadget geeks and tech enthusiasts, it now has appeal all over the fashion industry as well.
What Apple and Hermés Have in Common
How did this surprising collaboration come into place?
Well, it all boils down to one thing -quality design . This is one thing that both Apple and Hermés are passionate about. Knowing that they cater to completely different markets and audiences, this common factor definitely opens up a whole new world of opportunities for both brands. It’s a great way for Apple to enter the fashion market, and an equally amazing opportunity for Hermés to start making their presence know to the tech scene.
Hermés Executive Vice President Pierre-Alexis Dumas says that the brand’s primary goals has always been to provide functional products with elegance ang creativity, something that they know they would achieve by partnering up with Apple.
Apple´s Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive agrees with this sentiment, and further says that they also share a sincere yearning for excellence.
The Apple Hermés Watch Collection
The new line of Apple Watches are made of stainless steel and use distinct leather bands created by Hermés. These leather bands come in different styles- the Single Tour, the Double Tour, and the Cuff. Of course, all three designs still align and complement with Apple´s functionality and signature design.
The Single Tour comes both in 38mm and 42mm stainless steel. The former is availablein fauve Barenia leather , capucine Swift leather, and noir box leather, while the latter is available in capucine Swift leather and fauve Barenia leather.
The double Tour is meant to be partnered with the 38mm design. It comes in capucine and etain Swift leather as well as in fauve Barenia leather and bleu jean.
The Cuff, on the other hand, matches the 42mm design, available only in fauve Barenia leather.Across the entire collection, the stanless steel case shows the Hermés signature etched into it. It also features customizable faces that offers three exclusive dial designs. These dial designs were inspired by Cape Cod, Clipper, and Espace Hermés watches.
These fashionable watches were made available last October 5 in select countries all over the world, including the UK, the US, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong and a lot more. Prices range from $1,100 to $ 1,500 depending on the size style that you want.
Og course , stores that sell electronics would rather have the traditional Apple Watch in their shelves , so it looks like the Apple Hermés collection will only be available at Apple and Hermés stores for now.
