02How does Gadget Salvation calculate what my device is worth?
Our custom pricing algorithm pulls real-time resale data from eBay, Amazon, and Facebook Marketplace to calculate a fair, current-market offer for your specific device. The estimate takes into account the model, storage capacity, RAM, processor, and cosmetic or functional condition you report. Because we handle the entire resale process ourselves, we can pass more of the sale value back to you.
03How long does it take to get paid after I ship my device?
Once we receive your device, our technicians inspect it and issue payment within two business days. Standard UPS transit from most U.S. locations typically takes 1–3 business days, so the full process usually completes in 3–5 business days total. Payment is sent via your chosen method: Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or a paper check.
04Is the shipping really free, and what if my device gets damaged?
Yes — shipping is completely free. Once you accept your quote and complete checkout, we email you a prepaid UPS label at no cost. All shipments are insured for up to $100, provided the device is packaged correctly. Full guidance is on our Shipping Instructions page.
05What happens to my personal data after I sell my device?
Every device we receive is wiped using NIST-compliant data erasure software before it is resold or recycled — this goes far beyond a standard factory reset and makes data recovery virtually impossible. Read the full details on our Data Erasure Protocols page.
06Can I cancel my sale, and what happens if I disagree with the final offer?
You can cancel at any point, no questions asked. If you haven't shipped yet, simply don't use the prepaid label. If you've already shipped, email our support team and we'll return your device via UPS at no cost. You are never obligated to accept a revised offer — this no-pressure policy is part of why we've maintained near-perfect reviews since 2008.
